Martha Maria Dallari captivates Chaperone Leader candidates
Watchful eyes. Numerous notes. A flurry of questions. Candidates for Chaperone Leader were totally tuned into Martha Maria Dallari, ABCD´s Director of Institutional Relations, classroom presentation. The reason was simple. On the one hand, the students were very interested in the subject matter and on the other, there was Martha´s academic background allied with her practical experience in doping control.
Possessing a Doctorate in Education from University of Sao Paulo (USP) and a degree in Physical Education, Martha wowed students with her charismatic teaching style that kept the class lively and the students wanting more, this after being presented with four hours of thoretical and practical material.
The cases discussed in class dealt with real situations faced by athletes in their day to day routine. The sample collection kits were demonstrated and the candidates practiced completing their portion of the doping control form. All –in-all the Chaperone candidates were thoroughly exposed to the various stages of the doping control process. An important focus of Martha´s course dealt with the behavior and attitude of the future chaperones in the different stages of the doping control process.
Brazilian Army Captain, Djair Akamine, a Chaperone’s Leader Candidate , forwaded his comments on ABCD`s 2nd Doping Control Personnel Training Program in an e-mail to ABCD.
