ABCD Doping Control Personnel Training Program simulates an athlete notification
The thrill of experiencing the dream of being an athlete, stepping onto the podium. Who wouldn’t enjoy that, even if just for a few moments, to feel the happiness of being a winner? On the third day of the 1°ABCD Doping Control Personnel Training Program, the DCO candidates were separated into two groups: “athletes” and “DCOs” to simulate a complete In-Competition Doping Control Operation inside the same stadium that was the stage of the final match of the FIFA World Cup Final, Maracanã.
You´ve seen the area where the technical staff and the reserve players sit during the game and where the players run when they want to celebrate a goal with the fans? It was right there that our future Doping Control Agents simulated the first steps of the Doping Control Process.
While Leonardo Hirao, graduating in the first DCO training group could imagine himself a winner athlete, with all the feelings of being a champion, the DCO in his simulated role was ready to notify the athlete acting just as he would when he, in the future, would be on the field defending athletes that play true. A first class job on the part of all the participants, coordinated by ABCD – Autoridade Brasileira de Controle de Dopagem and USADA – U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.Confira versão em português
